TPC Group – Fire

TPC Group issued a CARE Line message at 1:50 p.m.  We experienced an electrical maintenance in several parts of the plant at approximately 1:15 p.m.  As a result, there is excessive flaring and black smoke, due to lack of steam from our boilers.  The flare is burning C4 hydrocarbons and emergency response is working with Harris County Pollution Control to conduct hydrocarbon monitoring in the surrounding area.  We will keep you posted of any changes in the situation via email and through the CARE Line at 281.476.2237.  We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
