Q & A from Flint Hills Resources – D. Altenhoff

Please see answers to questions below….

# What happen this morning, we all heard a real big bang?  The FHR plant experienced an operational upset that caused steam relief valves to open to maintain proper steam system pressure.  These are large relief valves and when these valves open there is a significant amount of noise.  There is no threat to anyone but I am very sorry about the noise.

# That flaring is loud and black smoke. This is not routine.  The noise was from the steam system and not the flare.  There was black smoke from the flare for a brief period (less than 10 minutes).

# I check the website and there is no new message   The CAER Line message was posted at 0848 hrs.  I just called the CAER line and the message is posted correctly.  I visited the CAER line website and our message is posted there as well (message posted at 08:49:54).  See below.  Please let me know if I can help with any other questions from the neighbors.

 Add-A-Can
This program provides residents with the opportunity of having a second or third garbage can serviced for a fee.
Residents will have their first 96 gallon can serviced free. The fee forservicing the second/third can may be added to the citizen’s monthly water bill upon request of the service. Citizens who already have an extra can and wish to continue to have it collected will need to request a sticker for it. Call 3-1-1 to enroll in Add-A-Can.
Tags For Bags
Extra bags of garbage are collected only if they have a special tag attached. The “Tags for Bags” program allows residents
