January “Urgent” Civic Meeting

Our schedule civic meeting had been cancelled due to the freezing weather and the schools being shut down.  We were able to schedule an “Urgent” meeting on Sat. 2/1/14 to allow members to cast their votes for the nominees who were nominated in place to allow the civic club to continue.  We had a great turn out and all members express their gratitude towards the existence of the club.  Michelle Miranda- President was given a hand of applause for her dedication and leadership for the improvements and changes that were done in her 4 years of service.  She expressed her dedication came from the support of the residents and members who participated in joining together for the betterment of the neighborhood.  Her Presidency term has expired and has agreed to step down and allow a volunteer to take the seat.  Members were disappointed and were willing to cast their votes to extend her term but they were reminded by Treasurer, Hernaldo Rivera that according to the By-Laws the term had reached her limit unless the By-Laws were amended.  Members presented the “motion for the amendment of the By-Laws” and stated that they would wait till it had taken the proper process to be voted.  So with the motion coming up, Michelle Miranda is currently standing as President.

The 32 votes are in and the New Officers are as follows:

Vice President – Dan Barth

Treasurer – Jauny Perrett

Secretary – Guadelupe Alonso

Hernaldo Rivera – Sgt. of Arms

Thank you Officers for offering your service and time to assist in the improvements and changes to our community living environment!
