Construction to Resume on El Dorado Boulevard and
Eastcape Drive Intersection Improvement Project
Houston, TX –  The City of Houston’s Public Works and Engineering Department (PWE) is set to resume construction at the intersection of El Dorado Boulevard and Eastcape Drive on Monday, August 17 to complete the installation of a new traffic signal. Median, sidewalk and wheelchair ramp improvements will also be constructed. Work on the project is expected to occur from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  MondayFriday.
Please be advised that the outside traffic lane on each side of El Dorado Boulevard near the intersection will be closed starting at 9:00 a.m. while construction is in progress. Standard traffic control measures such as warning signs and construction barrels will be in place on-site to alert motorists and direct traffic flow. Council Member Martin’s office has additionally worked with the Houston Police Department’s Clear Lake Division to request that officers monitor the location for traffic control assistance when possible.
The work commencing on August 17 is the second and final component of a larger intersection improvement project initiated at El Dorado Boulevard and Eastcape Drive by a resident request made to Council Member Dave Martin’s office. Improvements at the intersection also included the installation of an exclusive left-hand turn lane to accommodate larger traffic volumes, which was completed in early July and will open once all work has been completed.
Overall completion on the intersection improvement project at El Dorado Boulevard and Eastcape Drive is currently expected for late September 2015. Please note that all project timelines are subject to change due to weather. For questions or concerns, please contact Council Member Dave Martin’s office at (832) 393-3008 or via email at districte@houstontx.gov.
